2021 was an outstanding year for Fort Myers second baseman Bob Davis and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Florida State League Outstanding Hitter Award.
This season Davis compiled a .282 batting average and .411 on-base percentage. In 120 games he delivered 123 hits, 34 doubles, 2 triples, 27 home runs, 86 RBIs and 99 runs scored.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season.

 | Sunday, August 15th, 2021: Yuke 5-6 Against Miracle
It was high-5 day at Ballpark of Daytona, at least for King Yuke of the Daytona Cubs. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Fort Myers Miracle. Yuke smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on a his record-setting day, leading his club to a 14-4 win.
His manager said, "King was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him."
In the other dugout the opposing manager told SION beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine."
K. Yuke singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run double in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off P. Marino in the 8th.
In this current campaign Yuke is hitting at a .326 clip with 7 home runs and 61 RBIs.

 | Thursday, July 29th, 2021: Great Day for Petersen! 5 Hits!
Next time the Blue Jays might think twice about pitching to Michael Petersen. Today at Miracle Ballpark the Fort Myers left fielder really burned Dunedin pitching, going 5-for-6 in the Miracle 19-6 triumph.
"When he's seeing the ball well," his skipper told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
Petersen is batting .295 in 2021 with 5 home runs, 57 RBIs and 63 runs scored. He has 111 hits in 376 at-bats.
