| Breaking News | | Thursday, July 15th, 2021: Quakes Win, Shut Out Storm The Lake Elsinore Storm met their match today in Rancho Cucamonga hurler Aldomiro Plico. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 3-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," the Lake Elsinore skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow."
In the 8-0 victory Plico whiffed 7 and gave up 1 walk.
Currently Plico has a 1-3 won-lost record in 7 starts with a 7.36 ERA. He also has 23 strikeouts in 29.1 innings. | | Sunday, June 6th, 2021: O'Lannigan Belts Bunch of Base Hits "Believe it or not," said Rancho Cucamonga center fielder Rickey O'Lannigan, "they threw me some good pitches today."
That would be hard to believe for anyone who saw him dispose of the Mavericks with a great 5-hit performance.
"He made it look easy," said the High Desert manager, who saw his team fall to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, 7-0.
"Hats off to him!"
In the 2021 season O'Lannigan is hitting .308 with 2 home runs. | | Saturday, June 5th, 2021: Mann Fires Shutout in High Desert Win "That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Mavericks manager told reporters after today's game.
The Quakes ran into a buzzsaw as Christian Mann cut them down to size 5-0 with a 5-hit shutout.
His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash the High Desert hurler doled out 2 walks and registered 5 strikeouts.
In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Christian goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."
Mann also got some praise from the Rancho Cucamonga manager.
"He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."
In the 2021 season Mann has recorded a 8-5 mark. In 15 starts he has fanned 99 batters in 106 innings with a 2.63 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 62-58, .517 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 18.0 GB | | Record at home | 27-33, .450 PCT | | Record on the road | 35-25, .583 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-6, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 23-17, .575 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 17-14, .548 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 45-44, .506 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 7-3, .700 PCT | | Record in April | 11-17, .393 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in June | 11-14, .440 PCT | | Record in July | 18-11, .621 PCT | | Record in August | 7-2, .778 PCT |
