When Frisco relief specialist George Alou came into the game this season, it was as good as over. For his great year he was given the 2021 Texas League Outstanding Pitcher Award.
The RoughRiders bullpen star converted no saves this year with a 13-4 won-lost record and 2.50 ERA. Overall he appeared in 26 games and struck out 146 in 165.1 innings.
All of the league award winners will be recognized this weekend at the SBWA annual dinner.

 | Saturday, August 14th, 2021: Midland's Campos Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Armando Campos was on fire today and sparked his club to a 9-5 victory over the RoughRiders. The Midland second baseman was a tough out and went 5 for 5 against Frisco in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody...and some days they fall in."
A. Campos singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Unknown in the 7th.
So far this season Campos has gotten 124 hits in 416 at-bats for a .298 batting average with 4 home runs. His stats include 46 RBIs and 66 runs scored. He has played in 105 games.

 | Tuesday, August 10th, 2021: 5-6 Game for Yang
Ke-huy Yang of the Travelers was unstoppable in today's 16-12 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders at Arkansas Grounds. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Arkansas shortstop after the game. "All I had to do was swing, and I connected. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
K. Yang singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
This season Yang has hit at a .333 clip with 46 RBIs, 11 home runs and 40 runs scored.
