"Don't believe everything you hear." was the word from the team's ownership group after rumors of Franklyn Perron wanting out of Portland surfaced late yesterday. No one knows exactly how this news broke and Perron laughed it off when told of the story.

 | Wednesday, September 1st, 2021: Hammond and Portland Extend Contract
A throng of media gathered as Andreas Hammond announced that he had come to terms with the Stags and that he would be sticking around town another 2 years. Hammond is set to draw $21,680,000 in pay over that time.
Up to this point in the 2021 season, Hammond has fashioned a 6-2 won-lost mark, made 53 relief appearances and rung up 30 saves. He has a 1.91 ERA and has allowed 46 hits over his 61.1 innings of work, struck out 45 batters and walked 13.

 | Wednesday, September 1st, 2021: Portland and Coyle Agree to Deal
Portland fans celebrated as word of a signing became reality. Raymond Coyle won't be pulling up stakes anytime soon, as he has signed a 1-year extension at a pay rate of $980,000 per annum.
Since he is widely seen as an integral part of the club, Portland officials had to keep Coyle from jumping ship.
This season Coyle has 2 saves with a 8-5 mark and 4.42 ERA.
