| Breaking News | | Sunday, September 19th, 2021: St. Louis Blanked by Opitz Henry Opitz of the Colorado Rockies was one tough customer on the hill today. He blanked the St. Louis Cardinals 2-0 on 4 hits, registering 12 strikeouts and no walks.
"When he's on, he's tough to hit," said the St. Louis manager after the game. "He's just a bulldog out there."

It was a hits blitz for Jimmy Shedd at PNC Park. The Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman tore into Colorado for 6 hits in 6 at-bats to pace Pirates to a 11-6 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the Rockies bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Shedd, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
J. Shedd doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off S. Escamilla in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 132 games this year Shedd has posted a .297 average and put up these numbers: 10 home runs, 36 RBIs and 63 runs scored. | | Saturday, July 31st, 2021: Colorado's Deason Injured "It was kinda freaky.
