Wednesday, October 6th, 2021: Pineda 5-7 for Philadelphia
On top of the Philadelphia hit parade today was Bricio Pineda. He went to the plate 7 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Phillies to a 23-7 victory over the Houston Astros. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-7 performance.

The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."

The skipper of the Astros wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

B. Pineda hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.

Thus far this year Pineda is batting .291 with 10 home runs, 46 RBIs and 44 runs scored.
Wednesday, October 6th, 2021: Grandal Injured, Day-to-Day
Houston's star catcher Yasmani Grandal injured himself in a game against the Philadelphia Phillies, prompting the team to list him as day-to-day. The doctors are reporting the injury as a strained back muscle and the best medicine is a short period of rest. "Hopefully I don't get replaced by some hotshot wannabe," said Grandal with a smile as he talked to SION reporters.

So far this season Grandal has gotten 191 hits in 592 at-bats for a .323 batting average with 36 home runs. His stats include 126 RBIs and 109 runs scored. He has played in 141 games.
Monday, September 27th, 2021: Seiji Rips Houston for 5 Hits
There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. Willian Seiji of the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers had one of those moments when he went 5 for 5 at the plate today in the 11-3 win over the Houston Astros at Dodger Stadium.

The 28-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."

W. Seiji singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

In his season totals, Seiji has 21 home runs, .319 BA, .397 OBP, 54 RBIs and 87 runs scored. He has played in 103 games.
