| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 14th, 2021: Iorg Hurt, Out of Lineup 2 Months
Eli Iorg of the Chicago (N) Cubs was injured in today's game against St. Louis and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a torn rib cage muscle, and he is expected to be out for up to 2 months. It happened while Iorg was making a defensive play. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."
So far in 2021 Iorg has hit .297 with 21 home runs and 46 RBIs. He has played in 67 games and scored 49 times.

Barney Varada finds himself in the National League spotlight today after his impossible-to-ignore performance last week. He carried the Chicago (N) Cubs on his shoulders, earning National League Player of the Week honors.
The 28-year-old hit .522 (12-23) with 2 home runs and 8 runs batted in.
This season Varada is hitting at a .404 pace with 22 home runs, 62 RBIs and has scored 64 times.
