| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 14th, 2021: Bad News for Florida, David Sanders Injured
After the end of today's game between Florida and Montreal, David Sanders skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch, the Marlins had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The reliever will miss at least 1-2 weeks with a tender elbow.
Looking at his season stats to date, Sanders has 9 saves in 37 relief appearances with a 2-3 record and 4.57 ERA.

 | Sunday, June 13th, 2021: Dattilo Records Shutout Against Atlanta
In an impressive mound performance, Edward Dattilo of the Florida Marlins checked the Atlanta Braves on a 4-hitter and held them scoreless.
"He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," according to the Atlanta manager.
"Dattilo kept us confused the whole game."
The Florida hurler rang up 10 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his 7-0 shutout victory.
In 17 starts this year Dattilo has posted 6 wins while suffering 9 losses. He has pitched 82 innings, allowed 73 hits, struck out 87 and has a 4.06 ERA.

 | Wednesday, May 19th, 2021: Salem Goes 5-5 Against Florida
Emeel Salem really did a number on the Marlins in the Philadelphia 10-2 victory. Not just anyone can get 5 hits in 5 at-bats. But Emeel Salem did just that today for the Phillies and gave his batting average a healthy boost and sparked his club in the win.
"I felt real good in the batter's box today. I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done," the 23-year-old center fielder said after his record-setting performance.
E. Salem singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This season Salem has banged out 57 hits in 164 at-bats for a .348 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .435 pace and his totals also include 17 RBIs and 34 runs scored.
