5 times is a charm -- at least in the world of baseball. When a player gets 5 or more hits in a game, he is honored in the record book and the latest honoree is Corey Brandt of the GCL Orioles.
He tore up the GCL Indians to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the GCL 6-4 win today at Orioles Stadium.
"Brandt was a tough out today," the GCL manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
C. Brandt singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Younger in the 9th.
So far in 2020 Brandt is hitting .327 with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has 17 hits and played in 13 games.

 | Sunday, April 26th, 2020: Orioles Pitching Ravaged by Buchanan
Palmer Buchanan really sizzled at the plate today. In a game played at Ballpark of GCL, the GCL center fielder blistered the GCL Orioles for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace his club to a 11-1 victory.
"Buchanan was too tough to get out today," the Orioles skipper said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
P. Buchanan hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off J. Williams in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
So far this season Buchanan has hit .325 with 5 home runs, 20 RBIs and and scored 17 times.

He tore up the GCL Orioles to the tune of 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the GCL 11-3 win today at Ballpark of GCL.
"Ontiveros was a tough out today," the GCL manager said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
J. Ontiveros hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 8th.
This year Ontiveros has socked 10 hits in 25 at-bats for a .400 average with 1 home run. He is getting on base at a .444 pace and his totals also include 7 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
