 | Friday, July 23rd, 2021: Los Angeles (N)'s Higashikuni Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits What a day for Makushimirian Higashikuni of the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Colorado pitching apart at Dodger Stadium and sparked the Dodgers to a 14-8 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Higashikuni told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
M. Higashikuni doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off E. Alou in the 9th.
This year Higashikuni is batting .308 with 2 home runs and 15 RBIs. | |
