Monday, July 16th, 2012: It was a long day at the plate for the Lakewood Blue Claws. They never did figure out Mark Harris and were shut out 7-0. The Asheville hurler baffled them the entire game, yielding no runs and 3 hits in a very well-pitched outing. Harris also totaled 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in the game.
This season Harris has gone 6-5 with an ERA of 3.42, posting 55 strikeouts in 71 innings.

Monday, July 16th, 2012: 26-year-old Edward Bryan made a few Greensboro headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and South Atlantic League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 13 hits in 30 at-bats to put up a .433 average. Bryan collected 1 home run, 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
In the 2012 season Bryan is hitting .315 with 10 home runs.
