| Breaking News |  | Twins, Mariners Confirm Trade
Saturday, July 21st, 2012: Officials for Minnesota confirmed that they have traded 33-year-old starting pitcher Mark Buehrle and 27-year-old minor league second baseman Marquez Smith to the Seattle Mariners. In return, the Twins will receive 27-year-old starting pitcher Brandon Morrow.
This year Buehrle has compiled a 3-5 mark with a 5.02 ERA in 12 starts.
On his stats sheet for the year Morrow shows a 2-7 record, 4 starts, 61.2 innings, 73 strikeouts and a 5.11 ERA.

Friday, July 20th, 2012: Florida's Jose Valverde has mixed feelings about a possible trade. The 32-year-old closer, when reached for comment on recent trade rumors, replied, "I've made some good friends here. I'm not sure I'm ready to leave."

Thursday, July 19th, 2012: It was announced today in Houston that Astros reliever Jose Capellan will be out 8 months. Capellan suffered bone chips in his elbow that occurred during a game against the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers.
During this season Capellan has 24 relief appearances and registered 0 saves. Batters are hitting him at a .329 rate and his season record is 3-11 with a 7.04 ERA. He has logged 93.1 innings and struck out 47.
